Annual Potluck Picnic

  • Hagg Lake, Pavillion C (map)

This year’s picnic will be held at Henry Hagg County Park, Pavilion C.

Come join your GSOC friends for lunch in a lovely spot and hear Dr. Bill Orr speak about new developments in his books Pacific NW Geology and The Willamette Valley: An Environmental History. Books will be for sale at the picnic at a discounted price.

GSOC is requesting donations of $10 per head at the event and there is a $7 parking charge at the park. A senior parking pass is available for $5, but not on the day of the event. Some senior parking passes will be available at the July 12th lecture for $5 each. If you'd like the $5 pass, bring your cash on Friday the 12th or reply to this email.

Please bring a beverage as well as your contribution to the potluck. GSOC will provide the tablecloths, plates, flatware and cups.

No registration is required.

Directions: 50250 SW Scoggins Valley Rd, Gaston, OR. Take Highway 26 west from Downtown Portland to turn south on Highway 47 near Forest Grove, then west on Scoggins Valley Road. After you obtain a parking permit and head into the park, watch for the left hand turn going to the dam and up the west side of the lake. GSOC's picnic will be held in Pavilion C (about 4 miles from the parking kiosk). Parking is close by and includes a few reserved handicapped spots.
