Fossils are protected resources at ground-disturbing construction sites on public lands in the United States. A matrix of federal, state, and county laws require the retrieval of fossil objects that might be used for display, research or teaching.

 

 

GSOC President Emeritus Sheila Alfsen will speak on her experiences in salvage paleontology industry, working in the states of the western United States.
